അനുവിന് പൂച്ചകളെ വലിയ ഇഷ്ടമാണ്. അവളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ ഒരു കറുപ്പും വെളുപ്പും നിറമുള്ള പൂച്ചയുണ്ട്. അതിന്റെ പേര് ചിന്നു എന്നാണ്. ചിന്നുവിന് വെള്ളനിറമാണ് കൂടുതൽ. അതിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് നല്ല നീലനിറമാണ്. അനു എല്ലാ ദിവസവും രാവിലെയും വൈകുന്നേരവും ചിന്നുവിന് പാൽ കൊടുക്കും. ചിന്നു അനുവിന്റെ കൂടെ മുറിയിൽ കളിക്കും, അവളുടെ കൂടെത്തന്നെ ഉറങ്ങും.

English Translation

Chinnu's Secret

Anu loves cats very much. She has a black and white cat at her house. Its name is Chinnu. Chinnu is mostly white. Its eyes are a beautiful blue color. Every day, in the morning and evening, Anu gives milk to Chinnu. Chinnu plays with Anu in her room and sleeps with her.

One day, Anu came home from school. She put down her bag and called for Chinnu. "Chinnu, Chinnu..." she called again and again. But Chinnu didn't come. Anu looked everywhere inside the house. She looked under the bed, on top of the cupboard. She went outside and looked in the garden. Chinnu was nowhere to be found. Anu became very sad. Her eyes welled up with tears.

She asked her mother, crying, "Mom, where did Chinnu go?" Her mother said, "I don't know, dear, she was here in the morning." Anu started to cry. She didn't feel like eating. Suddenly, she heard a very small sound from the kitchen. "Meow..."

Anu ran towards where the sound came from. In a corner of the kitchen, there was a large box. The faint sound came from inside the box. Anu opened the box with suspicion.

When she looked inside, she was amazed. Inside the box, Chinnu was lying comfortably. With her were four little kittens. They hadn't even opened their eyes. They were all white, just like Chinnu.

Anu's sadness disappeared. She laughed happily. She gently touched a kitten. Then she called her mother. "Mom, come here quickly! Come see something amazing."

Her mother came and looked. She smiled too. "Oh, so Chinnu has become a mother. That's why we couldn't find her."

Now, there are five cats in Anu's house. She is very happy. Chinnu was keeping a big secret all by herself.
