English Translation
The White Snow Lion
Tenzin lives in a small village on a mountainside. The village is beautiful. All the houses are made of stone and wood. Tenzin has a white goat. The goat's name is Gangseng (Snow Lion). Gangseng's fur is white and soft like snow. Her eyes are black and bright. Gangseng is very sweet.
Every morning, Tenzin takes Gangseng to the mountain. The path is narrow. There is a lot of delicious grass and leaves there. Gangseng happily eats the grass. Tenzin sits under a tree and sings a song. His voice is pleasant.
One day, the weather was nice. Tenzin closed his eyes and sang a song. When he opened his eyes, Gangseng was not there. She had disappeared. Tenzin searched everywhere. He called out loudly, "Gangseng! Gangseng!" He searched the mountainside and in the forest. However, he did not find Gangseng.
Tenzin felt very sad. The sun set. He returned home. His mother was waiting at the door. "What happened?" his mother asked. "Gangseng is lost," Tenzin said. His mother consoled him. "Don't worry. Tomorrow we can search together."
Early the next morning, someone knocked on Tenzin's door. He slowly opened it and saw an old man from the village. The old man's face had many wrinkles. He was leading Gangseng. "Gangseng!" Tenzin jumped with joy.
"I found your goat in the forest," the old man said. "She lost her way. She was scared."
Tenzin was extremely happy. He thanked the old man. Gangseng rubbed her head against Tenzin's hand.
However, Tenzin noticed something. A small red cloth was tied around the goat's neck. It was not Tenzin's. "What is this?" he asked. The old man said, "My granddaughter tied it. She hopes this goat won't get cold."
