Gregor živi v lepem stanovanju v Ljubljani. Danes je sobota. Gregor ne dela. Hoče iti na glavno tržnico.

Vzame svojo staro, črno torbo. Gre peš do tržnice. Sonce sije in zunaj je toplo. Veliko ljudi je na ulici.

Tržnica je polna ljudi in barv. Gregor gleda stojnice. Prodajajo rdeča jabolka, zeleno solato in svež kruh. Vse lepo diši.

Gregor išče stojnico z mesom. Hoče kupiti dobro kranjsko klobaso. To je njegova najljubša hrana.

Najde dobrega mesarja. "Dober dan," reče Gregor. "Prosim, eno veliko kranjsko klobaso." Mesar se nasmehne in mu da klobaso v papirnato vrečko.

Gregor plača in da klobaso v svojo črno torbo. Zelo je zadovoljen in lačen. Počasi gre domov. Sanja o okusni večerji.

Doma postavi torbo na mizo v kuhinji. Odpre torbo, da bi vzel klobaso. Ampak... v torbi ni klobase. V torbi je težka, stara knjiga. Na naslovnici je slika zmaja.

Gregor je zelo presenečen. Kaj je to? To ni njegova knjiga. Pogleda torbo. Je črna, ampak je nova. To ni njegova stara torba! Na tržnici je pograbil napačno torbo. Zdaj ima nekdo njegovo klobaso, on pa ima knjigo o zmajih.

English Translation

Gregor and the Sausage

Gregor lives in a nice apartment in Ljubljana. Today is Saturday. Gregor is not working. He wants to go to the main market.

He takes his old, black bag. He goes to the market on foot. The sun is shining and it is warm outside. There are a lot of people on the street.

The market is full of people and colors. Gregor looks at the stalls. They are selling red apples, green lettuce, and fresh bread. Everything smells nice.

Gregor is looking for a meat stall. He wants to buy a good Carniolan sausage. It is his favorite food.

He finds a good butcher. "Good day," says Gregor. "One large Carniolan sausage, please." The butcher smiles and gives him the sausage in a paper bag.

Gregor pays and puts the sausage in his black bag. He is very happy and hungry. He slowly goes home. He dreams of a delicious dinner.

At home, he puts the bag on the kitchen table. He opens the bag to take out the sausage. But... there is no sausage in the bag. In the bag is a heavy, old book. On the cover is a picture of a dragon.

Gregor is very surprised. What is this? This is not his book. He looks at the bag. It is black, but it is new. This is not his old bag! He took the wrong bag at the market. Now someone has his sausage, and he has a book about dragons.
